How We Relate Prayer Initiative
Praying for God’s Kingdom to be advanced in Ohio, our communities, our churches, and our neighborhoods.
A.B. Simpson once said that, “Prayer is the link that connects us with God.” Our Prayer Initiative is meant to help connect men, women, children, and families deeper with God and spark a movement of prayer across our region. Our desire is to bring our requests together before the Lord, with one voice, offering prayer and intercession that is scripture-fed and spirit-led. We unite to pray for our churches, neighborhoods, communities, state, and beyond.
Matthew 18:20 tells us that prayer is a link that connects us as believers, “for where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.” [NLT]. We believe prayer makes a difference and it changes outcomes. If we are to see an outpouring of God’s Spirit in Ohio, we know it will begin with prayer.
“Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart.” Colossians 4:2 [NLT]
What’s Next?
Here are four simple steps to become part of this prayer movement.
Enroll
Join the Missionary Church East Central Region Prayer Movement as we ask God to bring a Gospel awakening to our region. Simply fill out your information in the box provided and commit to interceding with us.
Identify
Specify what day and time you will weekly contend with us in prayer. We will send you updates and details on how to pray specifically.
Pray
Go to God with confidence and with persistence and ask Him to supernaturally move through all of us, as the Church in our region, to own the lostness of our communities. We seek to faithfully represent the Gospel in word and deed to every man, woman, and child.
Celebrate
As we send out updates, we invite you to respond to God in worship through thanksgiving and praise and share with us ways you see Him answering our prayers as we bring the Gospel to our communities and cities.
Why Prayer?
From the outset, we are asking the Lord to build this work in our region and seeking that what begins here will overflow to the nations. We need God to answer our prayers at every turn: guidance, direction, finances, leaders – you name it. We are trusting Him to see older churches show evidence of new life, to have new churches planted in harvest rich areas, to further disciple-making, and reach the lost with the hope of the Gospel. We invite you to join forces with us in prayer as we seek the Lord together, with urgency and passion, for this initiative.
Our Prayer
God, we ask that you begin a fresh movement of seeing the church equipped, revitalized, and multiplied to impact lostness in Ohio and beyond. Father, begin by moving in us, with a Gospel renewal and revival in your Church. Amen.
