How We Resource & Reproduce Pastor Training

Growing in our capacity to train and multiply disciples in the local church.

In Matthew 28, Jesus tells us to “Go and make disciples of all men.” We take this commission seriously and believe church leaders must have a clear understanding of the priority of discipleship multiplication in their local ministry context. Therefore, we have developed a 4 session “Discipleship Primer” intended to bring high definition and clarity to your disciple-making process.

As part of our Resource Initiative, the East Central Region offers training to further strengthen your church in creating missional disciples who share Jesus where they live, work, learn, and play and are committed and equipped to multiply disciples. As part of the “Discipleship Primer” training process we cover:

1. WHAT IS “DISCIPLE MULTIPLICATION”

Focusing on the Great Commission call to disciple multiplication, the biblical definition of a disciple, and the contrast between “religious” approaches to discipleship and the “relational” approach commanded by Jesus: a relationship “up” with God, “in” with other believers, and “out” with seekers.

2. THE “UP” RELATIONSHIP

Addressing the basic skills needed to maintain a healthy relationship with God: listening for His voice in Bible reading, speaking to Him in prayer, and showing love for Him through a lifestyle of obedience.

3. THE “IN” RELATIONSHIP

Demonstrating the importance of Biblical community with other believers. This presentation unpacks the skills needed for healthy relationships between believers, including practicing the “one anothers.”

4. THE “OUT” RELATIONSHIP

Introducing the skills needed to identify and cultivate relationships with non-Christians and to be ready to sow the Gospel message. Intentional engagement, spiritual conversations, our story and His story are discussed.

In addition to training tools and resources, we also provide a follow-up processes for small groups who are continually seeking to develop and multiply this disciple-making rhythm with others.
